The Fallout 4 Next Gen update brings Performance mode that you can use on your PS5. The good news is that this is a free update and will give you 60 FPS at 4K resolution on default settings. Or you can get 30 FPS at 4K resolution on Ultra settings in Quality mode. It also supports Widescreen and Ultra-screen monitors natively. So if you haven’t enabled it and started using it yet, here are two ways you can try it out:
How to Enable Performance Mode on PS5 for Fallout 4 (Increased to 60fps)
You can change your Display Mode through the in-game settings after updating Fallout 4 to the latest version on your PS5. Once updated:
If for some reason that doesn’t work, you also have the option to force your PS5 to automatically apply Performance mode to all supported games. Note that if you use the method below, you will need to manually change it every time you want to use Resolution/Quality mode in other games.
Restart your PlayStation 5 and launch Fallout 4. You should now see an improvement in the game’s framerate.
