PDF files are ideal for exchanging formatted files across platforms and between people who don’t use the same software. However, sometimes we need to extract text or images from a PDF file and use them on web pages, in word processing documents, in PowerPoint presentations, or in desktop publishing software.
Extract data from PDFs easily and quickly (table/image/text/pages)
Depending on your needs and the security options set in the individual PDF, you have different options for extracting text, images, or both from a PDF file. Choose the option that suits you best.
Use Adobe Acrobat Professional. If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat—not just the free Acrobat Reader—you can extract individual images or all images and text from a PDF and export it in a variety of formats, including EPS, JPG, and TIFF. To extract information from a PDF in Acrobat DC, choose Tools > Export PDF and select an option. To extract text, export the PDF to Word or RTF format and choose from several advanced options, including:
Copy and Paste from PDF with Acrobat Reader. If you have Acrobat Reader, you can copy part of a PDF file to the clipboard and paste it into another program. For text, simply highlight the text portion in the PDF and press Ctrl + C to copy it.
