A huge list of items has been added to Stardew Valley with update v1.6, and fish are no exception. Goby is a new type of fish that is now available for players to catch. While it is not good to consume, you can still catch it and add it to your collection, but to do so, you will first need to find and catch it. In this guide, you will find the location where Goby spawns in Stardew Valley. Additionally, we will also provide you with some other crucial information about this fish that may come in handy.
How to Catch the Goby – Stardew Valley Update 1.6
In Stardew Valley, you can find a Goby in the Waterfall area. FYI, you can find this Waterfall area by going to the southern side of the Cindersap Forest. Once you reach the Waterfalls, grab your Fishing Rod, attach a Bait and throw it into the water. Make sure to use your best Fishing Rod because catching Gobies is not an easy task. Also, it is better if you have a Deluxe Bait or Goby Bait with you. This will increase your chances of catching Gobies in SDV.
Unlike most fish, Goby spawns in any season and at any time of day. However, you are more likely to catch it during the afternoon. Make sure not to eat it immediately after you catch it. If you do, your energy will drop by -62. Instead, you can sell it to Willy's Fish Shop to earn 150 gold. A good quality Goby will earn you more than 150 gold, so never stop fishing.
One more thing, Goby is also not an ideal gift. There is no NPC in SDV that would like Goby as a gift, not even your favorite NPCs like Leah and Haley. Anyway, if you are curious about other items, maybe crops like Powdermelon, we have a guide about it. Feel free to check it out and find out more in our dedicated Stardew Valley section.
