This article explains how and where to find TrueType, OpenType, and Type 1 font files on your Windows or Mac computer.

The default location for installed TrueType and OpenType fonts in Windows is the Fonts folder, but the files themselves can be located in other locations.

All Windows TrueType fonts have the extension .ttf or .ttc. OpenType fonts have the extension .ttf or .otf.

In folders and directories other than the Windows Font folder, the Details view does not show the font name; it only shows the file name. However, if you double-click the file name, the font name is displayed.
