You need to climb the giant mesa in the starting area by climbing the trees to reach a ledge that you can climb onto. You are trying to reach the waterfall, as there is a hidden entrance behind the water flowing down.

Stella's Star spawn location within the Star Biome is completely random, and you'll have to keep your eyes peeled as the location is different for everyone. I know for a fact that the Star only spawns at night, so keep that in mind when looking for it. For me it spawned on the floating islands, but my friend found it on top of the mesa.
