TikTok is an endless, bottomless pit of addiction, where every video is algorithmically curated based on your specific tastes and interests. With so many relevant videos scrolling past your face, it’s impressive that losing just one would be such a tragedy. But it is; there’s no greater pain than thoroughly enjoying a video, only to accidentally refresh your feed and watch it disappear forever. Unless you know how to find it.
How to Find a TikTok Video You Lost After Refreshing
For most of us, TikTok is a passive activity. You don’t go looking for videos; they come to you. However, if you’ve ever tried using search to find anything other than a specific creator, you might have struggled. There are simply too many videos on the platform to give you much of a chance to find one specific video, especially if that video is related to a trending topic.
It turns out that TikTok's search field can find videos you've seen before. It's just a bit of a hidden feature.
Here’s the trick: Go to the Discovery tab and tap the search bar. Search for a video you’re trying to find. Type in as many keywords as you want or can remember. Now click “Search,” but instead of scrolling through the options that appear, tap the two lines next to the search field.
