To connect a Chromebook to Wi-Fi, you may need to know how to find your Chromebook’s MAC address or IP address. Fortunately, the process is the same for all Chrome OS laptops.
How to Find Your Chromebook's MAC and IP Address
A Media Access Control (MAC) address is a binary number used to identify network adapters, which allow devices to connect to the Internet. Some laptops have two MAC addresses: a wired address for Ethernet connections and a wireless address for Wi-Fi. Because some networks have security features that block untrusted connections, you may need to provide your Chromebook’s MAC address and IP address to the network administrator before you can access the Internet.
You can find your MAC address in your system settings:
Open the Chrome browser and enter chrome://system in the address bar to open the About System page.
