An iPhone stuck in power mode is a rare occurrence, but if it happens to you, learn what's happening and how to fix it.

Before trying any of these steps, you should first try the standard way to turn off your iPhone. On older iPhone models, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, then swipe the Power Off slider. On newer iPhones, press and hold the Side button and Volume Down button until the slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off the phone.

If the standard iPhone restart process doesn’t work or doesn’t fix the problem, try these four steps in order:

Try the in-app option. The Settings app has an alternate way to turn off your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Power Off to see if that works.
