On the very first day of its release, Black Myth Wukong topped the Steam Charts and is among the most played games of all time. The game is commendable and runs reasonably well for most players, but there have been reports of crashing issues on PC, which we will discuss further below.

Some players have complained that the game crashes during the first shader compilation and the prologue. If you're experiencing these issues, you're not alone. I've collected some potential solutions that have reportedly worked for players, and you can follow these troubleshooting tips to see if they work.
In addition to restarting the game and your computer (basic troubleshooting), I want you to first try running the game in compatibility mode. Go to your Steam library, right-click on Black Myth: Wukong and click Properties. In the General tab, go to Startup Options and select Play Black Myth: Wukong (compatibility mode) from the dropdown menu (see image above).
This launch option disables some demanding features and settings to make the game run smoothly. This may slow down the performance of the game, but at least it will run without frequent crashes and stutters. You can also try running the game in Windows 8 compatibility mode by changing the properties of the exe file.
