How to fix black screen on startup issue after installing Intel HD Graphics!
If you’ve played around with Windows 10 recently and tried installing it on a laptop with Intel HD graphics, you may have been surprised when you tried to boot and ended up with a black screen! Well, I was! I have a Dell laptop and installing Windows 10 went fine, with no issues.
When it rebooted, I was met with a nice black screen and nothing else. After a bit of playing around, I decided to try a few things and eventually got it working, but it took a while! In this post, I will walk you through the steps you can take to fix a black screen with Windows 10.
The first thing you can try is Safe Mode in Windows 10. It was clearly a graphics card issue and safe mode loads with minimal graphics drivers. You can read my previous post on how to boot Windows into Safe Mode.
