Stop the VLOOKUP #N/A error
Microsoft Excel can return an error when you enter a value or try to perform an action that it does not understand. There are several types of errors, and each error is associated with specific types of mistakes that you may have made.
The #N/A error is a standard Excel error. It appears when you have incorrectly referenced data. For example, when you have referenced data that does not exist or that is outside of the lookup table, when you have misspelled the lookup value, or when you have added an extra character to the lookup value (a comma, apostrophe, or even a space).
Because the error occurs when you incorrectly reference a lookup value, it is most commonly associated with lookup functions such as LOOKUP, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and the MATCH function. Let’s look at the reasons, an example, and some solutions for the #N/A error.
