The Broadcast feature on Steam lets you stream your gameplay without installing any additional software. If Steam Broadcast isn’t working, you won’t be able to watch your friends’ games on Steam, and they won’t be able to see you.

The Broadcast feature requires a computer powerful enough to encode video in real time and a fast internet connection. If you are certain that hardware limitations are not the cause of the problem, there may be other issues affecting your computer and network hardware. Antivirus and firewall software can also interfere with Steam Broadcast. You may also need to adjust your Steam settings.

To get your Steam Broadcast working again, follow each of these steps in order. Check to see if Steam Broadcast is working after each step.

Make sure Steam Broadcast is enabled. Navigate to Steam > Settings > Broadcasting and check the Privacy setting. Select Anyone can view my games if you want to make your Steam Broadcast available to the public.
