Whatever the cause, you can take steps to stop the requests.

Confirm that iCloud is working. Go to the Apple System Status webpage and scroll through the listing for iCloud Account & Sign In. There should be a green dot next to it. There should also be a green dot next to one of the iCloud-specific services, including iCloud Backup, iCloud Mail, and iCloud Keychain. If you don’t see any green dots, the problem is with Apple’s servers. There’s nothing you can do until Apple addresses the problem. Check back at the System Status page later.

Restart your iPhone or iPad. Restarting clears the device’s memory and gives it a clean slate, which helps eliminate many of the bugs and glitches that occur with heavy memory usage.
