Friends in party chat can’t hear you over the Xbox Network, and you can’t hear them? Maybe you can hear your friends but they can’t hear you (or vice versa). There’s a chance your headset is simply broken, but try these solutions before writing it off completely.
To fix your Xbox Series X or S headset and get back to chatting with your friends, follow these steps:
Check that your controller is plugged in. If you’re using a wired headset, check to make sure that your controller is actually plugged into your Xbox before doing anything else. Since the headset connects to the controller, it won’t work if your controller isn’t plugged in. If you find that it isn’t plugged in, try syncing your controller again.
Check that the wireless adapter is plugged in. If you are using a wireless headset that uses a USB dongle, unplug it from your Xbox and then reinsert it. Make sure it is inserted correctly and pushed in all the way. If it was on the back, try inserting it into the USB port on the front for a stronger wireless connection.
