Android has seen several iterations of its Direct Share feature over the years, allowing users to share media, links, and other content within apps available on the phone. As useful as it can be, the Share menu was painfully slow to load until the release of Android 10, which utilized a new Sharing Shortcuts API to preload share targets.

After YouTube, Photos, News and Maps, Google is now testing a new share sheet on Chrome for Android. This new share menu is divided into two sections: one with native sharing options and the other with the apps available on the phone. This is not to be confused with Android 10's new share menu, as the latter can be accessed via Chrome's upcoming share sheet by tapping the 'More' button.
The new sharing panel available in Chrome for Android allows users to generate QR codes to share links and take a screenshot without having to press a physical button.
