To get Assists in Call of Duty MW3, you need to shoot the opponent at least once and make sure your teammate gets the takedown. This can easily be done while playing in Multiplayer mode while playing with a friend. Essentially, your job is to tag the opponents and deal damage, and your teammate needs to follow up with the killing shot.
You will see a yellow pop-up after you score an Assist each time. Each Assist gives you around +50 XP and you will need around 10 Assists to complete the challenge in MW3. This objective can also be completed in Warzone and Zombie, but it is better to try it out in Multiplayer mode. One strategy you can use to get Assists easily is to camp at various choke points and hide behind cover. This will allow you to easily damage enemies while you have an escape plan.
