After you’ve completed your first few runs, you should be able to increase your Grasp in Hades 2. This is a system that allows you to hold more Arcana Cards. These are important because they give you all sorts of benefits, like increasing your health and magic, starting with some gold each night, turning small finds into big finds, and more. Which may beg the next question: what are Arcana Cards? Don’t worry; we’ve got everything you need to know about them below.

You need Psyche to upgrade your Grasp of the Arcana card, which will increase your Grasp in Hades 2. It is displayed as a meter that shows how many Arcana cards you can have active at once. You can see your Melione icon on the right side of the screen.

The more Grasp you have, the better. We’ll look at Arcana Cards in a moment, but for now you can think of them as similar to what Talents did in the original game.

Arcana cards are perks that you can activate by equipping them. Each card has Grasp points that it uses when you equip it. For example, the card The Wayward Son requires 1 Grasp point to be equipped, and it restores 2 HP or twice if you have less than 30% HP left each time you leave a location. So if you have 10 Grasp points, you can build your Arcana card build by equipping cards I, II, VI, VII, and XII, which each require 1, 1, 2, 2, and 4 Grasp points respectively.
