Final Fantasy XIV's long-awaited graphical update not only gives the entire game a fresh new look, but player characters are also getting a glow-up. However, if you're looking to make some changes to your Warrior of Light based on that or any other reason, here's our handy guide on how to get a free Fantasia in FFXIV Dawntrail.

To receive the promised free Fantasia that was released with Patch 7.0, you actually don’t have to travel far to get it. The item is given as a reward after completing a Level 1 quest called “Bottled Fantasy”. Head to Ul’dah – Steps of Thal and seek out an NPC called the Medicine Merchant (X:13.4, Y:9.2), which is located at the northern end of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange (as seen below).

Start and complete the quest, which shouldn't take long, and you'll receive your free Fantasia as a reward for your efforts. As mentioned, this is a Level 1 quest, and you can be any class or job while completing it. In terms of MSQ, you only need to complete A Realm Reborn's "The Scions of the Seventh Dawn" quest before doing this, which you get at Level 17.

With FFXIV receiving a massive graphical overhaul that features significant visual changes for all of the game’s playable races, this free Fantasia will come in handy if you want a different look for your Warrior of Light (especially if you’re trying out one of Dawntrail’s two new jobs). Or if you’re happy with what you’ve got, you can always save this Fantasia for later, in case you ever feel the need to try out a character with a different gender.
