Gathering supplies and resources such as wood and ores is essential to the gameplay of 7 Days To Die. Wood is the most basic item that can be used to craft other complex objects such as weapons, tools, traps, building materials, etc. Wood blocks are another useful resource and here is how to get them in 7 Days To Die.

Unlike wood, which can be harvested or gathered directly from the source, wood logs must be crafted. Open the Crafting menu by pressing Tab on your keyboard. In the search box, type Wood Log to open the item (see the image above for reference). When you have 10 Wood in your inventory, press the Craft button to craft one Wood Log in two seconds. You can obtain Wood by chopping down bushes and trees, salvaging it from tables and chairs, or by searching for loot in the world.

Wood Log is a niche item with limited uses; for example, it is one of the items needed to craft a Forge (see image above). A Forge is a workstation that you can use to craft powerful weapons, tools, ammo, armor, and other items. Wood Log can also be used as an efficient combustible fuel in campfires, as it burns much longer than regular wood or plank (i.e. 8 minutes and 20 seconds).
