The truth about the world after the fall of the gods can only be discovered by the heroes with the help of the legendary mage Merlin. You, as that mage, will accompany them on their journey and provide them with the best support to strengthen them, which means using everything from spells to equipment. The artifacts in AFK Journey are the spells that grant special combat buffs to heroes, making them crucial to progression; however, you must unlock them.

Once you have the spells, you need to collect the echo shards to upgrade them. This will be a long process if you don’t know where to get them. Therefore, this will guide you through all the ways to unlock and level up the Artifact Spells.

You will primarily obtain Artifact Spells through the Main Quests and Legend Trail. There are six spells: Confining Spell, Starshard Spell, Enlightening Spell, Awakening Spell, Blazing Spell, and Ironwall Spell. Each one offers different types of buffs and effects in battle. Some are suitable for the arena, while others are best for boss fights and AFK stages. Nevertheless, they are all worth obtaining and upgrading.

The Awakening Spell is the starter artifact, while others are unlocked as you progress through the story. For example, the Starshard Spell is a reward for completing the Lucent's Lament Story Quest of the Dark Forest map. Once you have the spell, go to the Resonating Hall. Go to the Artifacts, select the new one and press Activate to unlock it.
