Like other city-builder games, Manor Lords has a system mechanic called Approval. The mechanic is not important during the early stages of the game, but will become necessary to maintain and improve as you progress.
How to increase landlord approval
Everything is tied to approval: from the availability of food and fuel to population growth, morale, and the loyalty of villagers in your city.
At the beginning of Manor Lords your Approval rating score will be around 43 to 48 percent. Providing food, fuel, and shelter will increase your initial rating.
Raising your Approval rating above 50 percent and keeping it there will attract new families to your city. A high Approval rating will also motivate your Militia armies, which is necessary if you want to conquer neighboring regions in Manor Lords.
