In Sons of the Forest, water is an essential resource, but not all sources provide clean water. Consuming dirty water can affect your health, so you need to know a few ways to get clean drinking water in the game.

Sons of the Forest has two primary ways to harvest clean water. The first method involves obtaining a Turtle Shell to craft a Rain Collector. This collector can be placed at the base, allowing you to passively harvest rainwater. However, this method relies on rain, so you may not always be lucky.
The other method involves obtaining a cooking pot which allows you to boil water to purify it. This is by far the most effective way to obtain drinking water in the game. Essentially, you have to build a campfire and place the cooking pot on top of it to boil water. Once that is done, you can drink the purified water straight from the pot.
