Carved Wood is a crafted material that can only be crafted after building the Refined Saw Table. This Saw Table is unlocked after visiting the Forest Antiquarian realm. Once the Refined Saw Station is ready, you will have access to the Carved Wood schematic. Now click on the Carved Wood recipe and use 4 pieces of Lumber.
You can craft wood using 2 pieces of wood bundles, either at the Refined Saw Table or the Simple Saw Table. Collect the wood bundles by using your wood axe on the trees outside. Cut wood is needed to build the Refined Weapon Bench, which allows you to craft weapons and better tools.
