I'll explain exactly where to go so you can turn the crank at the first ghost without any problems.
To get past the early ghost in Animal Well, you first need to grab the Firecracker item and throw it at the ghost. To get the Firecrackers, exit the ghost area via the path at the top left of the screen and jump over to it. The ghost won't change you here, so don't worry about that.
Once you reach the end of the path, follow the video above, which will show you exactly where to go to get the firecrackers. There are a few hidden paths waiting, and there’s also a quick puzzle to solve. The puzzle has you activate three switches, but one of them is in an area that you can’t reach until you go underground. As long as you follow the path in the video, you’ll solve this in no time.
