With Anime Defenders update 5, players got a ton of new content and one addition was the Portal Hardener. Players can now use a Portal Hardener to create a Hardened Portal from any Portal variation. This guarantees a 100% drop chance of the same Portal type. Here's how to get and use it in-game.

You can get a Portal Hardener through the Athenyx Challenges or the Athenyx Battlepass. The Athenyx's Realm area unlocks at level 30, and the better option is to keep playing and leveling up the Battlepass, which has a confirmed way to give you Portal Hardeners.
The Athenyx Battlepass has 25 tiers of rewards, including Tokens, Tethers, Wave Jumpers, Limit Breakers, and Portal Hardeners. If you don’t want to spend Robux on the premium Battlepass, you can still earn some Portal Hardeners with the free version. However, if you have extra Robux, you can purchase the premium version for R$699.
At Level 8 of BP you can get 8 Portal Hardeners from the free version and 15 from the premium version. And at Level 19 you can get 10 from the free version and 20 from the premium version.
