As for the new mechanics in Hades 2, you’re going to want Shadows. The in-game description says it’s “Usually used with spells that involve soul and resistance.” However, it’s not unlocked as soon as you start playing. Instead, you’ll have to let the story progress a bit. But don’t worry; the recipe for this is pretty simple, and we’ll go over all the resources you’ll need.

To extract shadows, you need the alchemical recipe Shadow Extraction. Unlike other sources, you can't find it randomly on stages or get it as a drop from enemies. Instead, you have to use magic or rituals to obtain it.
