There are a ton of weapons in The First Descendant, and one of the most powerful weapons you can use early on is the Thunder Cage SMG. Certain Reactors also provide a boost via the Thunder Cage Mounting bonus.

The Thunder Cage SMG in The First Descendant is probably the first ultimate weapon you'll encounter in the game. A subquest early in the game requires you to gather all the materials needed to craft the weapon. The weapon becomes even better as you perfect your build.
It's recommended to use a Reactor with a 'Thunder Cage Mounting' bonus when using this weapon, but there's been some confusion about how to activate the boost. We're here to clear up any confusion.
To get the bonus of a Reactor's Thunder Cage Mounting boost, you must equip the Thunder Cage SMG as your primary weapon. If you have the Thunder Cage in your second or third slot, you will not receive the boost.
