CarPlay is a mirroring system that allows you to interact with your phone through your vehicle’s infotainment system. As such, it’s only available in vehicles with compatible units. That means there are limited ways to add CarPlay to an older car that doesn’t already have it. In very limited circumstances, you can add this feature by upgrading your vehicle’s infotainment system. In all other cases, we’ve found that the only way to add CarPlay is to replace the head unit.
