Introduced in the first mission of the new expansion, these nasty little creatures are completely immune to your attacks until you do something very important. If you missed the tutorial on them, or you’re a new player who didn’t quite catch what was being said, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

This NEW Prismatic Warlock Build WILL MELT EVERYTHING! The ULTIMATE End Game Warlock! | Destiny 2

First, it’s important to know how to differentiate between these guys and your average run-of-the-mill minions. Destiny 2 often uses colored health bars to differentiate an enemy’s strength, with red being your standard, highly defeatable grunt, orange being an “Elite” enemy, and yellow being a Boss; either mini or full-on. The Final Shape introduces the first new type of bar in Destiny’s history, with the pink “Prismatic” enemy.

These guys are shielded with some Darkness mumbo-jumbo, and they’re a real nuisance if you’re trying to focus on large amounts of smaller enemy types. In the introductory mission, you get a chance to test out the new Prismatic subclass before you officially unlock it at the end of the mission, and this is your key to defeating them early on. You know where to get it based on these big ol’ chunks of pink paracausal space whatever scattered around wherever these encounters are in the mission.

Upon entering the Wellspring you’ll notice a change to your UI in the bottom left, and how you’ll be given a new bar that’s split into two sections. In order to take on these new enemies you’ll need to fill up both sides of that new bar (which you can do by using a mix of light and dark abilities) and activate ‘Transcendence’ (B on M+K – R3+L3 on Controller). This will give you some very fun new space magic toys to play with, and better yet, it’ll allow you to break the shielding of these new enemy types. While it’s temporary at first, fear not, as you’ll soon be rewarded with the full kit and caboodle.
