Starfield has a plethora of weapons to tear your enemies apart with. From laser weapons to ballistic weapons, what makes them work is a constant supply of ammo. There are several ways to obtain ammo, but can you craft it yourself?
Craft ammo and upgrade your melee weapons in Starfield's latest update!
Prior to the June 9 update, there was no way to craft ammo in Starfield. Bethesda noted that since crafting ammo was available in previous games like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, and was highly requested by fans, it ultimately decided to add it in the June 9 update. Crafting ammo follows a similar process to crafting other items in Starfield.
Simply go to a research lab and open the terminal. Navigate to the “New Weapon” tab and search for the ammo of your choice. The ammo has different component requirements depending on the weapon you are using. Once you have the required amount and type of components, you can craft ammo like any other product.
If you don’t have enough components to craft ammo, you can get them the old-fashioned way: by raiding outposts. When you find an outpost that has been taken over by Spacers or Crimson Fleet raiders, you can take them out and collect their ammo supplies. If you’re lucky, you might find components you need to craft ammo there.
