One of the best ways to earn a steady income in Fisch is to complete quests for the Angler NPCs. You’ll find them scattered across different islands and they’re always ready to send you on a fishing mission.
On the starting island, Moosewood, the Angler NPC is a bit sneaky – he's hiding around the corner, just across from the Merchant booth. When you first speak to him, he might ask you to catch a Trumpetfish. Trumpetfish are a bit tricky – they're an uncommon fish that show up on clear days in the fall or summer, and you'll need Shrimp as bait to reel them in.
The fish he asks for varies from player to player, so don't be surprised if you get a different request.
