How to Use the Netflix Playback Speed Controls
Netflix has been testing a new panel that allows users to change the playback speed of their content, similar to what is already available on YouTube. The new panel is only visible on the playback screen, meaning you can’t preset your viewing speed. You can change the speed at any time during playback, but the settings won’t automatically be applied to the next title you watch.
The new playback controls were first introduced to a select number of testers in December 2019, but we're now seeing many more people get the new settings.
The new playback panel is currently only available in the Netflix app on Android devices. While the feature is definitely coming to iOS devices, they have yet to find out when. Meanwhile, there's no mention of whether this playback feature will make its way to the web version of Netflix.
