To make free calls through Facebook.com, Messenger.com, or the Messenger app, open a conversation with the recipient and select the phone icon at the top of the message box.

While you’re in a Facebook voice call, select the video button to ask the recipient to enable video on their end. If they do, your audio call will convert to a video call.
