This article explains how to set up POP access and then use one of two methods to migrate messages between Gmail accounts: retrieving emails with Gmail or manually transferring emails with an email program such as Outlook. Instructions are also included for stopping the import of email.

You must have configured your old account to allow access via Post Office Protocol. If you have already set it up, make sure that any email programs or services that you have configured to download email from your old Gmail account via POP are either closed or set to not check email automatically. Then, move on to the next section.

If you have not yet activated POP:

In your Gmail account, select the Settings gear icon in the account toolbar.
