If you own an iPhone and want to record your phone calls, there’s finally an official way to do it. With the release of iOS 18.1 comes the new Call Recording feature. Up until now, your iPhone couldn’t record calls without third-party apps or hacky methods like putting your phone on speakerphone and using a second device to record, but those days are over. Here’s how you can get started recording and even transcribing calls using Apple’s built-in method.
How to Record Calls on Your iPhone for FREE (No Apps Required)
The next time someone calls you, make sure the call is in full screen mode. If the call appears as a small floating window at the top of your screen, simply tap on it to expand it to full screen view. In full screen mode, you will see the call recording button in the upper left corner.
Tap this button. Your iPhone will first notify all parties that the call is being recorded. Then the recording will start.
Once your call recording has started, there are two ways to stop it. The easiest way is to end the call, after which the recording will stop automatically. You can also press the stop button on the screen to stop the recording.
