You can reduce hunger by focusing on the following food-related issues:
Allowing the hunger level to rise will lead to diseases, loss of confidence and high tensions, eventually leading to Game Over.
To fix this before it gets out of hand, you need to work on the scarcity of food first and foremost. Research ideas that will help you unlock buildings that increase food production and these can be Greenhouses under the Resources tab on the Idea Tree, Advanced Greenhouses and Panaceum Factory under Society.
