Formatting marks such as the paragraph symbol can be useful when you want to check the formatting of an email message for errors or design flaws. However, they can also be annoying when you just want to write and send an Outlook email message.

Hiding formatting marks doesn't undo the formatting, but it does make them invisible. This lets you focus on the text and not be distracted by the various symbols.
