Soulmask features a huge map full of mystery and intrigue. Unlike most games, new areas don't automatically unlock on your map as you explore them.
How to UNLOCK the map in Soulmask – Clear Fog of War
If you play through to the end of the tutorial (playing the open-world game in a very curated and dictated order), you’ll actually be taught the Fog of War clearing mechanics, but let’s face it: no one finishes tutorials in Survival Games. Read on to learn how to clear Fog of War and reveal new parts of the map in Soulmask.
By default, you start the game with only the southwestern part of the map revealed. No matter how much you explore, more parts will not reveal themselves.
To clear the fog of war in Soulmask, you’ll need to find and deter Barbarian Scouts. Scouts spawn in specific locations marked on your map, even if their camp is in an area currently covered in the fog of war. There are two Barbarian Scouts you’ll need to deter once you’re ready to start exploring: the Western Rainforest Scout and the Northern Rainforest Scout.
