This guide explains two methods to rename your Windows 10 user folder.

Editing your account name in Windows 10 is easy, but doing so only updates the name that appears on the Start and Welcome screens. Changing the name of your user folder is a different story entirely.

While possible, this can easily break software or even render the profile unusable. The safer and more reliable method is to create a new user account in Settings; go to Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC.

As you follow the steps in this guide, make sure to give the user account the name you want for the Users folder.
