To say that the Fallout 4 modding community is in a bit of a mess right now would be an understatement. Luckily, there is a way to revert to the previous version of Fallout 4 if you want to continue using all the mods you're used to.

With Fallout 4’s 1.36 release breaking all but the most superficial mod and rendering the game completely incompatible with Steam Deck, the reasons to roll back are numerous, making the temporary headache more than worth it.
The crux of this strategy is to download an older version of Fallout 4 and replace your updated version with it. Since the previous version of Fallout 4 obviously can’t be downloaded from Steam’s storefront, we’ll have to do it manually using Steam’s console. Ironically, just like in a Bethesda game, Steam has its own developer console that you can enter commands from. To open it, type “steam://open/console” into your favorite web browser and click Accept when your browser asks if you want to open the link in Steam.
You should now have a new Console tab open in your Steam app. The Fallout 4 download will come in multiple parts, so be patient and enter these commands once the previous part of the game has finished. Keep in mind that Fallout 4 is around 40 gigabytes in size with each DLC, so this may take a while.
