Ever since 7 Days to Die launched in early access almost 11 years ago, auto-run has been one of the most requested features from the community. Now that the full game is finally out… there is still no official auto-run, but thankfully there are workarounds. Here's how to use auto-run in 7 Days to Die.
Auto Run FINALLY – 7 Days to Die – Works Perfectly
First of all, there is no official Auto-run option in 7 Days to Die. By default, running (sprinting) is enabled after you press the shift key and continue moving. While this is fine for most players, some people don’t like having to hold a button to continuously run. If that applies to you, here are a few workarounds you can try:
If you have a mouse or keyboard with its own software program, chances are there is a way to program macros. Look for an option that allows you to assign custom macros to a keystroke. Create a macro that automatically presses (and holds) the following keys: Shift + W.
Make sure to use the same Macro Key to cancel the action. Then disable the Sprint Lock option in the game. Now, every time you want to run forward, press the newly created Macro Key and use your mouse to move around. Press it again to stop running.
