When you compose an email in Gmail, it is automatically saved as a draft. This prevents accidental data loss in the event of a disconnection. Learn how to save a draft in Gmail, how to find drafts after they've been saved, and how to change settings to ensure that the Drafts folder is visible.
How to Save an Email as a Draft in the Gmail App
There are a few ways to quickly save a message you're composing in Gmail:
When you’re ready to continue working on the email, you’ll find it in the Drafts folder in the left column of Gmail, where all the labels are located. Click Drafts and then click the email to open it. As you work, Gmail will continue saving until you’re ready to click the Send button.
If you don't see your Drafts folder, it may be hidden. Changing a setting can make it easy to find it again.
