Trying to find something in a WhatsApp conversation can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. While WhatsApp does let you search within the chat, sometimes the hits are so numerous that you might want to give up altogether. Luckily, WhatsApp now has a “search by date” feature that lets you refine your search. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Currently, the date search feature in WhatsApp is only available on the smartphone app and WhatsApp for web.

To search your WhatsApp conversations by date, follow the steps below:

Please note that if no conversations have occurred on the date you selected, the chat screen will scroll back to the date closest to the date the conversation occurred.
