You’d think Strava would have this feature already, considering how long it’s been around. But nope: Strava just added the ability to DM other users. You should see it in the Android and iOS apps now.
STRAVA Direct Messages – How it Works!
Strava says it wants to give athletes "an efficient way to coordinate adventures, connect for inspiration or tips, share their journey, and more" with its new messaging features. If you already communicate with a group of Strava friends in another chat app, you may want to consider switching now.
Messaging on Strava supports both one-on-one and group chats, and you can share activities and routes. Features like message replies are included, but other main chat features, like photo uploads, will be added later.
You have a few different options for messaging your Strava friends directly in the app. Perhaps the easiest is to open the profile of the person you want to chat with and tap the Message button on their page to start a one-on-one conversation. Chat now also appears in the sharing options for activities, events, and routes.
