Virtual desktops in Windows 11 let you create separate workspaces, each with different customizations and active apps. By setting a different background image for each desktop, you get a quick visual reminder of which one you're using.

Changing your desktop background for a virtual desktop in Windows 11 is easy. The quickest way to do this is by using Task View and the keyboard shortcut Windows + Tab.

Once you select your favorite wallpaper, it will be instantly applied to the selected virtual desktop.
