How to set up a website | Domain registration, DNS and VPS
There’s more to visiting a website than just typing in the domain name and hitting enter. Behind the scenes, there are other layers involved to protect your privacy and security while surfing the web.
Internet requests from browsers cannot read domain names. They only understand numerical IP addresses that are registered to those domains. A Domain Name Server, or DNS, is where browsers go to get the correct IP address associated with a domain.
Your website's DNS configuration settings ensure that visitors can still access your site even after you move the site to a new hosting provider.
