Soulmask is the latest in a long line of hugely popular survival games from 2024. Like all the other games, you have to take matters into your own hands if you want to play the game on a private online server.

Thankfully, setting up a dedicated server for Soulmask doesn’t seem to be as tedious as the process has been for other games in the past (I’m looking at you, Palworld). Still, the nature of the beast dictates that there’s absolutely nothing intuitive about the process, so you’ll still want to follow a guide closely.

To start a dedicated server in Soulmask, you’ll first need to download SteamCMD, which is essentially a version of the Steam launcher that allows you to enter custom commands. While this will download as a .zip file, create a new folder somewhere on your drive to extract the file to once it’s finished downloading. Once you’ve extracted the contents to a new folder, you’re ready to set up SteamCMD to host a Soulmask server.
