Setting up a video projector is different than setting up a TV. Here are some tips to keep in mind for your home theater setup.
Home Theater Projector Installation – Everything You Need to Know About Projector Installation
Before you buy a video projector, you need to decide whether you want to project onto a screen or a wall. If you are projecting onto a screen, you will need to purchase your screen when you get the projector. Most units can project from the front or back, and from a table platform or the ceiling. For placement behind the screen, you will need a rear-compatible screen.
To project from the ceiling, place the projector upside down and attach it to a ceiling mount. If you do not install it upside down, the image will be inverted. However, ceiling mount compatible units have a function that allows you to invert the image to project it right side up.
If you mount the projector behind the screen and project from the rear, the image will be flipped horizontally. A unit that is compatible with rear mounting includes a function that allows you to perform a 180-degree horizontal flip, so that the image has the correct left and right orientation relative to the viewing area.
