When we planned our family’s first real vacation, we knew there would be times when our boys wanted (or needed) to be away from each other and do their own thing at the amusement park. That also meant we wouldn’t know where everyone was without constantly texting each other (annoying), and we wouldn’t be able to make purchases on the same credit card, making it difficult to track our spending.
How to set up Family Sharing on iPhone!
There were more first-world problems to consider: Since upgrading to an iPhone 15 Pro, high-resolution photos take up more space on my phone. I knew that downloading images my wife might send me would eat up what little space I had left. Plus, it would be tough to know what my boys would watch on their iPads during the six-hour drive to the park. Since we’d be sitting in the front seat, we’d never know when they’d gotten tired of How to Train Your Dragon and were about to discover Game of Thrones.
Luckily, we considered these possibilities before we left, and we solved many of them by setting up Family Sharing on our iPhones and other Apple devices. This feature lets you track the location of everyone in your family, set up parental controls, add and organize photos in a shared folder, share certain app subscriptions, and even share Apple Payments.
If this feature is useful for your next vacation, or if it could make life easier for you and your traveling companions in general, read on to learn how to set up this feature on your Apple devices.
