The Oculus Quest—now known as the Meta Quest—is a lot of fun, but without a screen to watch it through, it’s hard to know how your kids are using it. VR parental controls are missing, but you can still set some restrictions with other features and devices.
Setting up parental controls on the Oculus Quest
The first step to setting up Quest parental controls is to understand that there are no parental controls. While Quest requires a Facebook account to use, which technically limits it to users 13 and older, it lacks content filters.
Of course, you can check the content ratings of specific games before letting your kids buy or play them. However, if you’re looking for a filter that you can turn on to restrict certain content, you won’t find one. The Quest has a built-in browser that also doesn’t have parental controls.
However, that doesn't mean there aren't parental control options in VR.
